Saudi Arabia Launches First Drone Parcel Delivery Trial, Paving the Way for Smarter Logistics

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia – September 2025:
Saudi Arabia has taken a groundbreaking step in modernising its logistics sector by launching the Kingdom’s first-ever drone parcel delivery trial. The pilot, a collaborative project between the General Authority of Civil Aviation (GACA) and the Transport General Authority (TGA), focuses on using drones to deliver postal parcels more efficiently and sustainably.
Officials have described the trial as a pivotal milestone in reimagining postal and delivery services. Rumaih Al Rumaih, Deputy Minister of Transport and Logistic Services, highlighted that the initiative “opens new horizons” for expanding delivery options and developing innovative solutions that align with the Kingdom’s digital transformation agenda.
This trial forms part of the broader Vision 2030 framework aimed at enhancing transport efficiency, reducing delivery times, and integrating advanced technologies into everyday services. Authorities emphasised that the project will pave the way for safer, faster, and more sustainable parcel delivery across Saudi Arabia.
With the success of this pilot, the Kingdom is set to position itself as a leader in smart logistics, offering scalable and innovative solutions that support economic diversification and improve the quality of life for its citizens.
