Trump warns Iran will be ‘hit very hard today’ as conflict enters second week

Donald Trump said on Saturday that Iran would be “hit very hard today," accusing the country of “bad behavior" in the region as the ongoing U.S.–Israeli military campaign against Tehran enters its second week.

In a post on Truth Social, Trump claimed that Iran had effectively “surrendered” to its neighbors, adding that it was no longer the “bully of the Middle East” but the “loser of the Middle East.”

The U.S. president also warned that new targets are under consideration, saying areas and groups of people that had not previously been targeted were now being evaluated for what he described as “complete destruction and certain death.”

Trump has continued to demand “unconditional surrender” from Iran, stating that the offensive would only end once the country’s military and nuclear capabilities are completely destroyed.

The statement appeared to respond to remarks earlier in the day by Masoud Pezeshkian, who issued an apology to neighboring Gulf countries for recent strikes. Pezeshkian said Iran would stop attacking Gulf states unless attacks on Iran originated from their territory.

Conflict update

According to reports, at least 1,332 people have been killed in Iran since the conflict began on February 28, 2026. Trump also claimed that U.S. strikes had already destroyed large parts of Iran’s navy, air force, and telecommunications infrastructure, including 42 naval vessels.

Regional tensions remain extremely high across the Middle East. Strikes have also been reported in Lebanon, while aviation disruptions have affected key travel hubs, including Dubai International Airport, where flights were temporarily suspended following nearby explosions.
