HM King Hamad Approves Updated Traffic Penalties to Enhance Road Safety in Bahrain

His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa has officially approved a new set of updated traffic penalties aimed at promoting safer driving behavior and reducing road accidents across the Kingdom of Bahrain.
The new legislation introduces stricter fines and more robust enforcement for traffic violations, including speeding, reckless driving, distracted driving, and failure to adhere to pedestrian safety laws. The decision reflects the Kingdom’s proactive commitment to public safety and modern traffic governance.
Government officials highlighted that these updates are part of a broader national strategy to reduce road fatalities, enhance traffic discipline, and foster a safer environment for all road users.
A statement from Bahrain’s General Directorate of Traffic emphasized:
