Bahrain Hotels and Resorts to Undergo Safety Audits for Pools and Beaches

Manama: Hotels, resorts, and tourism establishments offering water-based activities in Bahrain will be subject to mandatory safety audits starting next month, as part of a nationwide initiative to ensure compliance with newly updated pool and beach safety standards.

The inspections follow the release of revised national guidelines in July by the Royal Life Saving Bahrain (RLSB). These standards aim to enhance public safety, reduce drowning risks, and ensure that all hospitality venues meet international best practices when managing swimming pools, beachfronts, and water recreation areas.

The audits will cover a range of safety criteria including the presence of qualified lifeguards, proper signage, first-aid preparedness, water quality control, and the availability of emergency equipment. Facilities found to be non-compliant may face warnings, penalties, or temporary closure until necessary improvements are made.

Authorities have emphasized that the move is part of Bahrain’s commitment to protecting both residents and tourists, especially as the Kingdom continues to expand its tourism and hospitality sectors under Vision 2030.
