Bahrain Achieves 99.96% Compliance with Summer Midday Work Ban in 2025

Bahrain has announced an exceptional 99.96% compliance rate with its Summer Midday Work Ban for 2025, one of the highest figures recorded since the regulation was introduced. The achievement highlights the Kingdom’s dedication to protecting outdoor workers from extreme heat during the peak summer months.

The ban, which is in force annually from July 1 to August 31, prohibits all outdoor work between 12:00 p.m. and 4:00 p.m. The measure is designed to safeguard workers, particularly those in construction and other outdoor sectors, from heat exhaustion, dehydration, and other heat-related illnesses.

According to the Ministry of Labour, inspectors conducted thousands of site visits throughout the summer, monitoring compliance and offering guidance to employers. Out of all inspections carried out, only a minimal number of violations were detected, with swift action taken against offenders.

Labor Minister Jameel Humaidan commended employers, contractors, and workers for their cooperation, stating that such high compliance rates demonstrate both awareness and a shared commitment to occupational health and safety. The ministry also credited awareness campaigns, early communication with businesses, and community engagement for the success of the initiative.

The Summer Midday Work Ban has been a cornerstone of Bahrain’s occupational safety framework for over a decade, contributing to a notable decline in heat-related workplace incidents. Officials reaffirmed their commitment to maintaining and enhancing worker welfare measures in the years ahead, ensuring safe and sustainable working conditions despite rising summer temperatures in the region.
