World Sports Summit to Inspire Generations, Says Sheikh Hamdan
Dubai is set to host the World Sports Summit from December 29 to 30 at Madinat Jumeirah, organised by the Dubai Sports Council under the guidance of Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE, and Chairman of The Executive Council of Dubai. Held under the theme “Uniting the World Through Sport”, the summit aims to shape the future of sport and strengthen its role in empowering communities worldwide.
The summit will bring together more than 70 speakers, including global sports leaders, athletes, legends, investors, and decision-makers from across multiple disciplines. Ahead of the event, Sheikh Hamdan reaffirmed Dubai’s commitment to sport as a powerful driver of positive social impact, welcoming participants from around the world and highlighting the city’s role as a global hub for sports development.
Sheikh Hamdan noted that the summit seeks to unify international efforts, inspire future generations, and enhance global cooperation in sport. He added that the event represents a first-of-its-kind initiative in the UAE, designed to empower communities, attract talent, and contribute to shaping the future of sport globally. The summit aligns with the Dubai Sports Sector Strategic Plan 2033, further reinforcing Dubai’s position as a leading destination for international sporting events and innovation.
Participants and guests have already begun arriving in Dubai, including FIFA President Gianni Infantino and prominent figures from various sports. In parallel with the summit, the Organising Committee has arranged a range of entertainment, recreational sports, and family-friendly activities, such as padel competitions, safari tours, and visits to leading resorts across the emirate. A pre-summit programme on December 28 offers attendees opportunities to network and explore Dubai’s sports and tourism infrastructure.
The summit’s opening day will feature keynote speeches and panel discussions, including an address by Khalfan Juma Belhoul, Vice Chairman of the Dubai Sports Council, and a special session by FIFA President Gianni Infantino titled “The Next 90 Minutes”. Notable participants include Novak Djokovic, Khabib Nurmagomedov, Ons Jabeur, Paula Badosa, Nasser Al Khelaifi, Peter Crouch, Manny Pacquiao, Oleksandr Usyk, Ronaldo Nazario, and Paolo Maldini, among others.
The World Sports Summit is expected to be a landmark global gathering, providing a platform for dialogue, collaboration, and innovation, while celebrating sporting excellence and contributing to the future of sport worldwide.
