Tornado Hits Chilika Lake in Odisha, Startles Tourists Near Kalijai Temple
Odisha : A tornado unexpectedly touched down over the waters of Chilika Lake in Odisha on Friday, creating a moment of panic and awe among hundreds of tourists visiting the scenic site.
The swirling column of wind was spotted just southwest of the famous Kalijai Temple, a well-known pilgrimage and tourist destination in the region.
Many visitors were reportedly enjoying boat rides and taking in the lake’s natural beauty when the tornado appeared, prompting a mixture of shock, fear, and amazement.
Though the phenomenon lasted only a short time before dissipating, several tourists managed to capture videos and photos of the rare weather event on their mobile phones, which quickly circulated on social media.
There have been no reports of injuries or damage so far, but local authorities are continuing to monitor weather conditions in the area.
