Move Over Labubu: Meet Mirumi, the Adorable Emotional Robot Taking Over Bags
Move over Labubu, Mirumi has officially arrived, and it’s redefining what cute tech companions can be. Designed to clip onto bags with its long, flexible arms, Mirumi instantly comes to life by scanning its surroundings, tilting its head with curiosity, and shyly looking away when someone gets too close.
Give Mirumi a gentle shake, and it might even nod “no” like a playful toddler, adding to its charm. Created by Japanese robotics company Yukai during its 2024 Make-a-Thon, Mirumi blends robotics with emotional expression. Using sensors and IMU technology, it reacts naturally to movement and proximity, while its oversized googly eyes and soft fur amplify its expressive personality.
Mirumi made its official debut at CES 2025, where it quickly captured attention not just as a gadget, but as a tiny emotional companion. Designed to spark smiles, encourage playful interaction, and create small moments of joy, Mirumi shows how technology can feel warm, personal, and emotionally engaging.
Preorders for Mirumi start at 18,360 JPY (approximately Rs 10,500) and will be available in grey, pink, and ivory, with shipping expected in April 2026.
As emotional technology continues to grow, the big question remains: Could Mirumi be the next Labubu or even bigger? One thing is certain cute, expressive robotics are no longer just a novelty. With Mirumi leading the way, emotional tech has officially gone mainstream.
