Jazeera Airways becomes first Kuwaiti airline to launch Deema BNPL for flight bookings
Jazeera Airways, Kuwait’s leading low-cost carrier, has become the first Kuwaiti airline to introduce Deema, the country’s first licensed “Buy Now, Pay Later” (BNPL) payment solution, into its booking system.
The move marks the fastest-ever airline integration with Deema and forms part of Jazeera Airways’ broader digital transformation strategy aimed at enhancing customer convenience and financial flexibility.
Interest-free installments for travelers
Through the new integration, passengers can now split the cost of their flight tickets into two to four interest-free installments. The BNPL option is embedded directly into the airline’s digital booking journey, allowing customers to select Deema seamlessly at checkout.
The solution offers instant eligibility checks, ensuring a smooth and friction-free payment experience particularly appealing to value-conscious travelers looking to better manage their travel budgets.
Digital innovation in focus
Barathan Pasupathi, CEO of Jazeera Airways, emphasized the airline’s commitment to innovation and accessibility.
“At Jazeera Airways, we are committed to lowering the barriers to travel through agile digital innovation,” he said.
By integrating licensed BNPL services, Jazeera aims to make air travel more accessible while maintaining responsible lending standards and regulatory compliance.
A first for Kuwait’s aviation sector
The partnership positions Jazeera Airways at the forefront of payment innovation within Kuwait’s aviation market. As digital wallets, flexible payment models, and fintech integrations become increasingly popular across the region, the airline’s adoption of BNPL reflects shifting consumer expectations around affordability and convenience.
With travel demand continuing to rebound, flexible payment solutions such as Deema could play a key role in enabling more passengers to plan trips without immediate upfront financial strain.
