Emirates to Offer Complimentary Starlink Wi-Fi Across Entire Fleet by 2027
Emirates Airline has announced a significant leap in inflight connectivity, confirming plans to roll out Starlink Wi-Fi across its entire in-service fleet by mid-2027. The initiative marks one of the most extensive Starlink aviation integrations in the world, beginning with the airline’s Boeing 777 aircraft in November 2025. Passengers can look forward to ultra-fast, ground-quality internet at cruising altitude, enabling seamless streaming, gaming, calls, work, and browsing on both seatback screens and personal devices.
Over the next two years, Emirates will equip all 232 in-service aircraft with Starlink technology. The first fitted aircraft Boeing 777-300ER A6-EPF was unveiled at the Dubai Airshow, where visitors tested the high-speed connectivity on the ground. Following the showcase, A6-EPF will operate the first commercial flight featuring Starlink, signaling the start of a rapid fleet-wide rollout. Installations will proceed at a pace of approximately 14 aircraft per month, with Airbus A380 upgrades beginning in February 2026.
Each Boeing 777 will be equipped with two Starlink antennae, while the Airbus A380 will become the first commercial aircraft to feature three antennae, delivering unmatched bandwidth, coverage, and performance across all cabin classes. Emirates will also introduce Live TV via Starlink initially available on personal devices, with seatback integration expected by late December 2025.
In a major customer-focused move, Emirates confirmed that the Starlink service will be free for all passengers on equipped aircraft, requiring only a one-click login without payment details or Skywards membership.
Sir Tim Clark, President of Emirates Airline, described the partnership as a pivotal milestone. “Partnering with Starlink marks another defining moment in our commitment to ensuring our customers ‘fly better’. We’re introducing the world’s fastest Wi-Fi, allowing passengers to stay connected, productive, and entertained throughout their journey,” he said. Clark emphasized that the rollout complements broader upgrades across the fleet, including Premium Economy enhancements and refreshed Business and First Class cabins.
He added, “Our goal is consistency. While others offer a patchwork of products, Emirates wants all passengers to enjoy the airline’s best experiences on every aircraft and route. Advanced connectivity, exceptional cabins, world-class service these investments raise the bar for air travel.”
Chad Gibbs, Vice President of Starlink Business Operations at SpaceX, highlighted the advancement for travelers: “With Starlink onboard, Emirates passengers can stream, game, and video call just as they do on the ground. We’re thrilled to support this rapid rollout.”
With this ambitious integration, Emirates is poised to set a new global benchmark for inflight connectivity, ushering in a fully connected and seamless digital experience for passengers worldwide.
