A passionate Bahraini collector is currently bidding for a remarkable trifecta of Guinness World Records—including the title for the longest online auction—after successfully hosting a continuous livestream spanning over 40 hours and selling more than 1,200 items.

Key Highlights of the Record Attempt

• The Collector Behind the Feat: Hamad Al Kooheji, owner of the Masterpiece Museum in Riffa and an avid collector of celebrity autographs, boasts a personal collection comprising more than 3,500 unique signatures.

• Inspiration for the Attempt: Speaking to GDN, Mr. Al Kooheji shared that the ambition to pursue a world record sparked after he completed a marathon livestream session that lasted nearly 18 hours. Explaining the shift to digital platforms, he noted, "Me and a group of collector friends started using the Siin application to sell items from the comfort of our homes," adding that conventional platforms like eBay were impractical due to distance and shipping costs.

• Scaling Up the Auctions: Having gradually built up his collection, he began hosting weekly auctions every Monday. As his inventory grew, the sessions extended from six hours to eight, eventually hitting 18 hours. Realizing that the previous world record for the longest online auction was held by an individual in the UK at 24 hours, he dedicated two months to meticulously sourcing items and planning every aspect to break the record by a significant margin.
