BIC Generates $100m Economic Impact from Flagship F1 Weekend

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC) is generating an estimated $100 million in economic impact each year from its flagship Formula 1 Gulf Air Bahrain Grand Prix weekend alone, according to BIC chief executive Shaikh Salman bin Isa Al Khalifa.

Highlighting the circuit’s broader national significance, Shaikh Salman said BIC has evolved into a key driver of Bahrain’s economic diversification, extending far beyond motorsport. The annual F1 event continues to record strong attendance figures, drawing international visitors and boosting sectors such as hospitality, tourism, transport, and retail.

He further emphasised that BIC’s success is underpinned by specialised talent development, world-class operational expertise, and strong institutional collaboration across both public and private sectors. These factors have positioned the circuit as not only a global motorsport venue but also a strategic economic asset for the Kingdom.

With Formula 1 at its core, BIC continues to reinforce Bahrain’s global profile while delivering measurable economic and developmental returns year after year.
