First Group of Stranded Bahrainis Return Home from Mashhad After Grueling 30+ Hour Journey

The first group of Bahraini citizens stranded in Mashhad, Iran, has successfully returned home after an exhausting land journey spanning over 30 hours. The group arrived in the Kingdom yesterday, bringing relief to families and officials alike. Hundreds more are expected to arrive today, while several citizens remain in Mashhad, awaiting their turn to return.
Their complex route to safety began with a bus ride from Mashhad to the Shalamcheh border with Iraq, followed by a crossing into Safwan, then on to Kuwait via the Abdali border, before finally reaching Bahrain.
Officials have expressed their commitment to ensuring the safe return of all nationals still stranded abroad. Humanitarian coordination and logistical support played a crucial role in facilitating this return.
"We wish everyone a safe and speedy return," said a statement from Bahrain’s civil emergency coordination team, extending gratitude to all involved in the effort.
