HRH Prince Salman Announces Ashoora Holiday for 1447 AH with Compensatory Day on July 7

His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister of Bahrain, has officially announced the public holiday for Ashoora, marking the Islamic year 1447 AH. All government ministries and public institutions will be closed on Saturday and Sunday, July 5 and 6, 2025.

As Saturday falls on the regular weekend, a compensatory day off has been declared for Monday, July 7. This decision ensures that government employees receive the full two-day Ashoora holiday in accordance with national labor policies.

The Ashoora holiday holds deep religious and cultural significance in Bahrain, observed by many as a time for reflection, commemoration, and community gatherings. Public events and processions are expected across various governorates, with authorities coordinating safety and logistics measures during the long weekend.

The announcement provides clarity for both public and private sectors in planning operations and travel around the extended break. Employers are encouraged to accommodate accordingly, and citizens are advised to stay updated through official channels regarding any changes in public services or transportation schedules.

With the additional day off on Monday, residents of Bahrain will enjoy a three-day weekend, offering an opportunity for both spiritual observance and rest.
