HRH prince Salman attends fifth round of Bahrain international trophy series
His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Deputy King and Crown Prince of Bahrain, attended the fifth round of the Bahrain International Trophy series on 20 February 2026.
The event formed part of the 20th horse race of the 2025/2026 season at the Rashid Equestrian and Horse Racing Club (REHC) in Al Raffah, Riffa.
The featured race of the evening was the HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa Cup, sponsored by Bapco Energies. The $135,000 Listed race was run over 2,200 meters. The cup was won by Calif, owned by Victorious Forever and trained by Fawzi Nass, under jockey Stephane Ladjadj.

Al Sakhir Cup (Texel Air): The winner was represented by HH Shaikh Sultan Al Deen bin Mohammed, who also received the trophy.

Bahrain Vision Cup (Beyon): Won by Abdullah Fawzi Nass, with the trophy presented by Shaikh Abdulla bin Khalifa Al Khalifa.

HH Shaikh Khalid bin Nasser Cup: Won by Phoenix, representing M & E Racing, ridden by jockey Lee Newman.
The race meeting also included several cups named after the children of HH Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, reflecting Bahrain’s strong equestrian traditions and royal patronage of the sport.
HRH Prince Salman was joined by HH Shaikh Isa bin Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Chairman of the REHC High Committee, and HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid bin Isa Al Khalifa, who presented trophies to the winners.
The evening additionally marked the launch of the “Ramadan Nights” series, drawing a strong public turnout and featuring activities celebrating Bahrain’s rich equestrian heritage.
