Taha Shah was born in Abu Dhabi, United Arab Emirates, to Indian parents. His father, Shah Sikkander Badusha, an orthopedic doctor, is from Tamil Nadu, while his mother, Mahnaz Sikkander Badusha, a biochemist, hails from Karnataka. He has an elder brother, Abid, who is a lead civil engineer and a graduate of the University of Toronto.

Taha began his schooling at Sherwood Academy in Abu Dhabi, later studying at Kodaikanal International School and completing his education at the International School of Choueifat and Sharjah American International School. He briefly pursued Business Administration at the American University of Sharjah before shifting focus to business later Acting. Since 2006, he has been active in HR, construction, real estate, and construction material supply. Later losing interest in steel Business he moves to Mumbai to try his luck in Acting career.

Taha made his film debut with Luv Ka The End (Y-Films) as an antihero, a unique role in the youth genre. He followed this with Gippi (2013), earning praise for his screen presence and acting versatility from industry names like Karan Johar and Rensil D'Silva. In 2015, he starred in Barkhaa opposite Sara Loren; though the film flopped, its music gained popularity. He later appeared in Baar Baar Dekho (2016), Ranchi Diaries (2017), and made his Hollywood debut in Draupadi Unleashed (2020). In 2021, he featured in web series Bullets and Bekaboo 2. Taha debuted as a singer in 2022 with Vande Mataram and played Nawab Tajdar Baloch in Sanjay Leela Bhansali's Heeramandi (Netflix) which gave him huge success for his role.

It took him 15 years of relentless hard work, blood, sweat, and tears to become the so-called National crush and a global star, admired across ethnicities both in India and abroad, especially at 77th Cannes festival.

Shah Sikkander Badusha: Upcoming Project

Taha Shah Badussha stars in Paro: The Untold Story of Bride Slavery, which premiered at the 2025 Cannes Film Festival. The film, directed by Gajendra Ahire and produced by Sandesh Sharda, tackles the harsh reality of bride trafficking in South Asia. Taha plays Rashid, one of Paro’s husbands, whose character evolves throughout the film. The concept and lead role of Paro are helmed by acclaimed Marathi actress and filmmaker Trupti Bhoir.

Taha has also signed a three-film deal with Ramesh Sippy Entertainment, including an upcoming project directed by Rohan Sippy. He expressed excitement about the collaboration and his commitment to impactful storytelling.
