HH Shaikh Nasser Competes in Asian Endurance Riding Championship in Thailand
His Highness Shaikh Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Representative of His Majesty the King for Humanitarian Work and Youth Affairs and Commander of the Royal Endurance Team, proudly represented Bahrain in the 120-kilometer race at the Asian Endurance Riding Championship held in Pattaya, Thailand.
The event drew significant support from Bahrain’s sporting leadership. The race was closely followed by HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee and the General Sports Authority; HH Shaikh Faisal bin Rashid Al Khalifa, Vice President of the Supreme Council for Environment and Vice President of the Rashed Equestrian and Racing Club; along with HH Shaikh Hamad bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Mohammed bin Nasser bin Hamad Al Khalifa, HH Shaikh Faisal bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, and HH Shaikh Abdullah bin Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa.
The championship comprised five demanding stages, each testing endurance across varied terrain. Competitors maintained high intensity and close competition throughout all phases of the race.
HH Shaikh Nasser described the team’s participation as highly positive, noting that the experience strengthens the team’s readiness for upcoming international events. He praised the strong overall performance and the open, competitive spirit among riders. His Highness also extended congratulations to the top three finishers and wished continued success for all participants.
In the final stage, the horse Everest La Majorie did not pass the veterinary inspection, preventing completion of the race. The first-place title was secured by Emirati rider Saeed Ahmed Al Harbi, followed by Saudi rider Mubarak Sabt of the Royal Endurance Team in second place, while third place was claimed by Patanakol from Thailand.
The Bahrain Royal Endurance Team’s participation reinforced the kingdom’s strong presence in regional equestrian sports and highlighted continued dedication to excellence in endurance racing.
