Riyadh Metro Announces Annual and Term Ticket Prices

The Riyadh Public Transport Authority has announced the pricing structure for annual metro tickets and term-based student passes, set to take effect from January 1, 2026. The move is part of ongoing efforts to enhance public transport services and facilitate smoother passenger movement across the capital.

According to the authority, annual tickets will be available to all passengers in both digital and plastic formats. Prices have been set at SR1,260 for the standard class annual ticket, while first class passengers can opt for an annual pass priced at SR3,150. The authority advised commuters to purchase tickets through a registered account to ensure secure storage and easy retrieval if needed.

In addition to annual passes, the authority introduced semester tickets specifically for students enrolled in schools and universities. These term tickets will be offered in the standard class only, at a cost of SR260, and will be valid for four months from the date of activation, covering the duration of a full academic semester. Like annual tickets, student passes will be available in both digital and plastic formats.

The Riyadh Public Transport Authority said the new ticketing options are designed to provide more flexible and accessible transportation solutions, encouraging residents and students to rely on public transport for their daily commutes while supporting the city’s broader mobility and sustainability goals.
