HRH Prince Salman Announces New Year’s Day Holiday Across the Kingdom

A directive has been issued by His Royal Highness Prince Salman announcing the official New Year’s Day holiday for government entities across the Kingdom. The announcement underscores the leadership’s commitment to ensuring uniform observance of national holidays within the public sector.

According to the directive, all ministries, government authorities, and public institutions will observe a holiday on Thursday, January 1, 2026, which corresponds to 12 Rajab 1447 AH in the Islamic calendar. The holiday will apply nationwide and covers all public-sector employees.

The directive instructs relevant authorities to make the necessary administrative arrangements to ensure smooth continuity of essential services during the holiday period, while allowing employees to observe the occasion in accordance with official regulations.
