Kuwait Airways to resume Cairo flights via Dammam after regional disruptions
Kuwait Airways (KA) has announced the resumption of normal flight operations to and from Cairo starting Thursday, March 26, following recent disruptions caused by escalating regional tensions.
According to Kuwait News Agency, the airline will operate four flights per week to the Egyptian capital. These services will be routed via King Fahd International Airport as part of adjusted flight paths implemented due to ongoing airspace restrictions.
The temporary rerouting comes in response to the wider impact of the ongoing conflict involving the United States, Israel, and Iran, which has significantly affected aviation operations across the Gulf region. Airspace closures and safety concerns have led to widespread flight cancellations and route changes by several airlines.
Kuwait Airways’ decision to resume services reflects a gradual effort to restore connectivity while maintaining strict safety protocols. By operating via Dammam, the airline aims to ensure passenger safety while navigating restricted airspace zones.
The resumption of flights is expected to benefit travelers between Kuwait and Egypt, a route that sees high demand due to strong economic, cultural, and expatriate ties between the two countries.
Authorities continue to monitor the situation closely, with airlines across the region adapting operations in response to evolving security conditions. Passengers are advised to stay updated with official airline communications regarding schedules and travel advisories.
The move marks a cautious but positive step toward normalizing air travel in the region amid ongoing geopolitical uncertainty.
