Half-Day Holiday Announced for Bahrain Sports Day

The Cabinet of Ministers announced that Thursday, 12 February 2026, will be a half-working day for all ministries and government agencies to mark Bahrain Sports Day.
The decision aims to enable employees across the public sector to participate in sports and physical activities, reinforcing the role of sports as a cornerstone of community culture and a key contributor to public health and wellbeing.
The announcement was made during the Cabinet session held yesterday and chaired by His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, the Crown Prince and Prime Minister. The Cabinet underscored the importance of promoting an active lifestyle and encouraging community-wide engagement in sports activities.
Bahrain Sports Day reflects the Kingdom’s ongoing commitment to fostering a healthy, productive society and embedding sports as an essential element of daily life and national culture.
