Dubai Police enables instant online clearance of select travel bans under zero bureaucracy drive
Dubai Police has officially upgraded its “Inquiry About Circulars and Travel Bans” service, allowing eligible residents to clear certain travel bans instantly online, the authority confirmed on January 20, 2026.
The enhancement eliminates the need for in-person visits to police stations or courts, marking a key step in Dubai’s broader Zero Bureaucracy initiative, which aims to streamline government services through fully digital, time-efficient processes.
Key features of the upgraded service
The updated platform introduces several major improvements designed to simplify legal and administrative procedures:
Instant removal of eligible bans: Travel bans linked to qualifying financial disputes can now be lifted within seconds upon completion of an electronic payment.
Fully digital process: Residents can complete the entire procedure through the Dubai Police Smart App or official website, removing the need for physical paperwork or court visits.
Global accessibility: The service is available to users both inside and outside the UAE, making it especially useful for residents who discover a ban while abroad.
Eligibility in the first phase
In its current rollout, the service primarily applies to travel bans issued by the Rental Dispute Settlement Centre (RDSC).
Dubai Police confirmed that coordination is underway to expand coverage to include cases issued by Dubai Courts and the Public Prosecution in future phases.
How residents can use the service
The process has been designed to be simple and user-driven:
-
Log in to the Dubai Police App or website using UAE Pass
-
Select “Inquiry About Circulars and Travel Bans.”
-
Verify your status using your Emirates ID
-
If a financial ban is detected, proceed with direct digital payment
-
Once payment is confirmed, the system automatically closes the case and lifts the travel ban instantly
Part of Dubai’s zero-bureaucracy vision
Officials say the upgrade reflects Dubai’s commitment to faster, more transparent legal services, reducing delays that previously kept residents grounded for weeks or months.
By digitizing verification, payment, and clearance into a single workflow, the system significantly reduces administrative friction while ensuring compliance with legal requirements.
As additional authorities are integrated into the platform, the service is expected to become a centralized travel ban resolution tool for residents across Dubai.
