The Boulet Brothers on ‘Dragula: Titans’ Season 2 and Eyeing an Emmy Nod: “It Would Be Important”

Nearly a decade after unleashing The Boulet Brothers’ Dragula onto screens in 2016, Dracmorda and Swanthula Boulet are seeing their horror-drag empire expand in major ways. As the original series prepares for its seventh season, the duo is also deep into Dragula: Titans Season 2 a fierce all-star spinoff showcasing returning fan-favorites and rising icons of alternative drag.
Speaking with The Hollywood Reporter, the Boulets reflected on their journey from cult hit to mainstream disruptors. “I think when we first came up with the concept of the show, we knew where we wanted it to go,” said Dracmorda. “I think it’s just literally a force of will that kept it going,” Swanthula added.
That “force of will” has paid off. Dragula has carved out a unique space in the reality competition genre blending horror, glamour, and subversive performance art in ways no other show dares. With Titans now airing its second season and buzz continuing to build, the Boulets say they’re eyeing a milestone moment: an Emmy nomination for Best Reality Competition Series.
“An Emmy nod would be more than just validation,” they explained. “It would be important not just for us, but for what the show represents. Alternative drag. Queer artists. Horror and gender expression. It deserves a seat at the table.”
Their ambitions are backed by an ever-growing, passionate fanbase and critical acclaim for their boundary-pushing format. With drag entering new mainstream spaces, Dragula continues to challenge expectations while spotlighting the artistry, grit, and resilience of its performers.
