Bahrain has inaugurated the largest electricity transfer station in the history of its national grid, marking a major step forward in the Kingdom’s energy infrastructure development. The facility, located in Jasra, was officially opened by His Highness Sheikh Khalid bin Abdulla Al Khalifa, Deputy Prime Minister.

The inauguration ceremony was held on behalf of His Royal Highness Prince Salman bin Hamad Al Khalifa, Crown Prince and Prime Minister, in conjunction with celebrations marking the Isa Al-Kabeer Year.

The new transfer station is expected to significantly enhance the efficiency and capacity of electricity transmission across Bahrain. By strengthening the national grid, the project will help meet rising demand from residential, commercial, and industrial users while supporting long-term sustainable development goals.

Officials described the project as a landmark achievement that underscores Bahrain’s commitment to modernizing its power infrastructure. The station is designed to improve network reliability, reduce transmission constraints, and ensure uninterrupted electricity supply across the Kingdom.
