Bahrain Drag Racing Championship Returns to BIC Strip for High-Octane Action

Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), known as ‘The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East’, is hosting the second round of the 2025/2026 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship from Tuesday to Friday, December 23-26, in Sakhir. The region’s premier drag racing series returns with a full schedule of high-intensity action along BIC’s world-class quarter-mile drag strip.

Following a thrilling season-opener last month that drew nearly 200 competitors from Bahrain and across the region, top drag racing teams and riders will once again compete head-to-head. The championship, sanctioned by the US-based National Hot Rod Association (NHRA), is organised by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Bahrain Drag Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission.

Champions across 13 classes including cars categories like Index 10.0, Outlaw 6, Pro Mod, and motorbike categories such as Street Fight 9.5 and Pro Street will compete for the prestigious ‘Wally Trophy’, NHRA drag racing’s most coveted accolade named after founder Wally Parks.

The week kicks off with a single night of Test and Tune on Tuesday from 6 pm to midnight. Qualifying runs take place on Wednesday to determine the elimination ladders, with full race action scheduled for Thursday and Friday starting from 4 pm daily.

Fans can watch the excitement from the Start Line Grandstand or BIC’s Beyon Grandstand. Tickets are priced at BD5 for the Start Line Grandstand, and BD2 for Beyon Grandstand Test and Tune sessions, or BD3 for qualifying and race days. The 2025/2026 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship calendar features five rounds. Following this week’s events, rounds three and four will take place from January 6-9 and January 13-16, 2026, respectively, with the grand finale scheduled for March 3-6, 2026.
