Bahrain sounds all-clear siren after security incidents, residents urged to remain cautious

As of March 2, 2026, the Ministry of Interior has confirmed that the “all-clear” siren has been sounded, signaling the end of immediate danger following regional security incidents earlier in the day.

While authorities have declared that the threat has passed, residents are being advised to remain indoors and avoid unnecessary movement as official teams continue follow-up safety procedures across affected areas.

Incident reports

Earlier, on March 2, the ministry reported a fire at a foreign vessel in Salman Industrial City caused by falling debris from an intercepted missile. The incident resulted in the death of one Asian worker and left two others seriously injured.

Civil defense teams have also been responding to drone-related damage in three buildings across Manama and Muharraq, with investigations and safety assessments ongoing.

Official advisories

Authorities are urging residents to use main roads only when necessary to ensure public safety and to allow emergency and security teams to operate efficiently.

The Ministry has stressed the importance of relying solely on official communication channels for updates and avoiding the spread of unverified information.

Facility closures and precautionary measures

As a precaution, City Centre Bahrain has announced a temporary closure. However, HyperMax within the mall will remain open until midnight to allow residents to access essential supplies.

Bahraini courts have suspended all sessions until March 5 as part of broader safety measures.

The U.S. Embassy in Manama remains closed, having cancelled all regular and emergency appointments scheduled for March 2.

Travel and airspace status

Flight operations at Bahrain International Airport have been temporarily suspended for a second consecutive day due to ongoing regional airspace closures.

The disruption has had wider regional implications. Major UAE carriers, including Emirates and flydubai, have extended flight suspensions until at least 3:00 PM on Tuesday, March 3, while Etihad Airways has suspended Abu Dhabi flights until 2:00 PM the same day.

Meanwhile, travel across the King Fahd Causeway is reported to be running smoothly with no disruptions.

Situation under monitoring

Authorities continue to monitor developments closely, with security, civil defense, and emergency teams deployed across key locations.

Residents are advised to remain vigilant, minimize movement unless necessary, and follow official updates as Bahrain works to restore normalcy following the day’s incidents.
