12 Innovative Concepts Advance to Final Stage of Fikra Government Innovation Competition
A total of 12 innovative concepts have qualified for the final stage of the seventh edition of the Government Innovation Competition, Fikra, following a competitive evaluation process that reviewed 40 submissions from across Bahrain’s public sector.
Fikra aims to foster creativity and innovation within government entities, supporting the Kingdom’s development goals by enhancing workstreams and improving the quality and efficiency of public services. The competition aligns with the aspirations of Bahrain’s citizens and residents by encouraging forward-thinking solutions to national challenges.
During the evaluation phase, participating teams presented their ideas to four specialized committees comprising experts and professionals. Teams were assigned to committees by lottery and given three minutes to present their concepts, which were then assessed based on predefined criteria.
The 12 concepts selected for the final stage represent a wide range of sectors and innovative approaches. These include a Savings and Investment Program from the Ministry of Finance and National Economy; Ata’a – The National Giving Platform by Tamkeen; Floating Oases proposed by the Supreme Council for the Environment; and a Smart Employment Advisor from the Ministry of Legal Affairs.
Other qualifying ideas include Rahma, Takamul, Secondary Education Curriculum Enhancement, Tameni, the Annual Leaves Exchange Platform, Wasalt, Tawazun, and MindForward, with contributions from ministries, government hospitals, and national authorities.
In the final stage of the competition, the qualifying teams will present their concepts to a high-level jury comprising ministers. The jury will select the most successful idea, and the winner of the Public Vote will also be announced, marking the culmination of this year’s Fikra competition.
