Varun Dhawan’s Bhediya 2 Roars Back: Sequel to Release in 2026 with Bigger Twists and a Vampire Rival
Varun Dhawan is all set to bring back his werewolf avatar in Bhediya 2, the much-awaited sequel to the 2022 horror-comedy hit. The film is part of Dinesh Vijan’s growing supernatural universe, which includes Stree and Roohi, and continues the trend of mixing scares with humor and heart.
Bhediya 2 will see Varun reprise his role as Bhaskar, a man caught between the human and beast worlds. The sequel will reportedly pick up after the events of Stree 2, where Bhaskar is expected to regain his lost powers. The story is said to explore a darker chapter, introducing a new enemy known as Betaal, a vampire-like character that could be portrayed by Ayushmann Khurrana.
While Kriti Sanon played a key role in the first part, her involvement in the sequel hasn’t been confirmed yet. However, fans are hopeful that she will return as Dr. Anika, Bhaskar’s love interest and a scientist who understands his curse better than anyone else.
The film is expected to go on floors in late 2025 under the direction of Amar Kaushik, who also directed the first Bhediya as well as the blockbuster Stree. Known for his knack for balancing comedy and horror, Kaushik is reportedly planning to make the sequel more visually striking with advanced VFX and deeper storytelling.
Bhediya 2 was initially slated to hit theaters on August 14, 2026, but sources suggest the release could be delayed due to scheduling conflicts with other big releases like Naagzilla and Love & War. The makers are yet to announce a final date.
Despite the uncertainty, excitement around the film is already high. A fan-made poster of Bhediya 2 recently went viral, showcasing Varun Dhawan in a fierce new look that sent fans into a frenzy. With the crossover universe expanding and new supernatural characters entering the mix, Bhediya 2 promises to deliver another wild, entertaining ride when it finally arrives in cinemas.
