SLRB Launches Online Property Registration Services via bahrain.bh
The Survey and Land Registration Bureau (SLRB) has launched a suite of online property services through Bahrain’s National Portal, bahrain.bh, in coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority. The new services include property registration and ownership transfer, as well as application status inquiry and electronic payment, as part of efforts to unify government services on a single national platform.
The initiative aligns with the Government Program (2023–2026), particularly its objectives to enhance service digitalisation and improve the quality and efficiency of government services.
SLRB explained that access to the new services requires the use of eKey and the upgraded eKey 2.0. The property registration and ownership transfer service allows users to enter data and upload required documents electronically in a secure and user-friendly manner. Meanwhile, the inquiry service enables applicants to track their application status, make amendments when necessary, and complete fee payments online.
Basim bin Yaqoub Al Hamer, President of the Survey and Land Registration Bureau, said that launching the services via the National Portal represents a strategic milestone in the Bureau’s digital transformation journey. He noted that several development projects have been implemented this year, including upgrades to digital infrastructure, enhancement of electronic workflow systems and geographic information systems, adoption of electronic signatures, activation of a remote service center, and improved integration with entities involved in property registration processes.
Al Hamer added that the Bureau is currently implementing the second phase of development projects, which aims to strengthen connectivity with government and private sector entities concerned with property registration and ownership transfer. This phase focuses on data unification, streamlined information exchange, and improved workflow paths to deliver faster, more reliable, and fully integrated services within a comprehensive digital government ecosystem.
He also highlighted that close coordination with the Information & eGovernment Authority ensured a smooth transition of services while meeting all technical and operational requirements, reflecting the government’s commitment to delivering innovative services that meet beneficiaries’ expectations.
Al Hamer noted that property registration services were first launched electronically through the Bureau’s website in 2020, allowing users to complete transactions without the need for in-person visits. More than 26,000 property registration applications were recorded through the website during 2025 alone.
He stressed that the move to the National Portal is part of an ongoing development plan aimed at improving real estate service quality, simplifying procedures, and enhancing integration among relevant entities, in line with Bahrain’s vision of building an advanced and sustainable digital services ecosystem.
