Dhurandhar Crosses Rs7 Billion Worldwide After Two Weeks at the Box Office
Ranveer Singh’s Dhurandhar has completed two weeks in cinemas with a strong box office performance, crossing the Rs7 billion mark worldwide. According to The Indian Express, the film has emerged as the second highest-grossing Hindi film of the year so far, trailing only Vicky Kaushal’s Chhaava.
On its 14th day in theatres, Dhurandhar earned approximately Rs230 million in India, trade tracker Sacnilk reported. This brought the film’s total domestic collection to Rs4.6025 billion, underlining its sustained momentum beyond the opening week.
Globally, the film has amassed Rs7.02 billion, placing it among the highest-grossing Hindi films in recent years. Industry analysts note that the film has already surpassed more than 25 box office records, strengthening its position as one of the year’s standout commercial successes.
The performance of Dhurandhar is now being measured against major historical benchmarks, including PK (2014), which earned Rs7.92 billion worldwide, and Gadar 2 (2023), which collected Rs5.25 billion net in India. Comparisons highlight the film’s strong theatrical pull across markets.
However, the box office landscape is set to become more competitive in the coming days. Dhurandhar will face direct competition from James Cameron’s Avatar: Fire and Ash, which is releasing widely across India. The previous Avatar film opened to Rs403 million in India in 2022 and went on to collect Rs3.91 billion domestically, demonstrating the franchise’s strong appeal among Indian audiences.
The crowded December release calendar has also led to adjustments across the industry. Dinesh Vijan’s Ikkis has been postponed to January, while Karan Johar’s Tu Meri Main Tera Main Tera Tu Meri remains scheduled for a December 25 release.
With a sequel to Dhurandhar already slated for March, the franchise is clearly being positioned for long-term growth. For now, industry focus remains on how the film performs as it enters its third weekend amid heightened competition at the box office.
