Canva to establish regional HQ in Dubai, backing 250,000 SMEs and creators
Global design platform Canva has announced plans to establish its regional headquarters in Dubai, reinforcing the emirate’s growing role as a digital and creative powerhouse. The move was unveiled at the World Governments Summit 2026 and aligns with the UAE’s broader push for digital transformation and artificial intelligence adoption.
Supporting 250,000 businesses and creators
Over the next five years, Canva aims to support 250,000 small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) and digital creators across the region. The expansion signals a long-term commitment to empowering entrepreneurs, marketers, educators, and content creators with accessible design and AI-driven tools.
Dubai’s pro-innovation ecosystem, strong startup culture, and government-backed digital initiatives make it a strategic base for Canva’s Middle East operations.
Strong UAE user growth
Canva currently serves users in more than 190 countries worldwide. In the UAE alone, the platform recorded 54 million designs created in 2025, highlighting strong local adoption among businesses, students, and creative professionals.
The establishment of a regional headquarters is expected to deepen partnerships, enhance customer support, and expand training initiatives tailored to the needs of the Gulf and wider Middle East markets.
Boost to UAE’s digital vision
The announcement supports the UAE’s ambition to become a global leader in digital economy and AI integration. By attracting global tech firms to set up regional bases, Dubai continues to strengthen its reputation as a hub for innovation, entrepreneurship, and future-focused industries.
With SMEs forming a backbone of regional economies, Canva’s expansion could play a key role in accelerating digital capability, branding excellence, and creative output across the Middle East.
