Bahrain Ranked Third-Safest Arab Tourist Destination by World Economic Forum

MANAMA, September 13 – Bahrain has been ranked the third-safest Arab destination for tourists, according to the World Economic Forum’s (WEF) Tourism Safety Index, scoring 6.00 out of 7.
The Kingdom placed just behind the United Arab Emirates (6.12) and Qatar (6.07), reinforcing its growing reputation as a secure, welcoming, and attractive hub for international visitors. The WEF index rates destinations from 1 (least safe) to 7 (most safe), with Bahrain standing out for its commitment to safety, infrastructure, and cultural appeal.
The country’s high ranking is attributed to ongoing efforts in tourism development, including modernized laws, investment in infrastructure, and active promotion of its historical and cultural heritage. Additionally, Bahrain's stable security environment and openness to international visitors have played a significant role.
The Kingdom has also gained recognition for hosting major global events, including Formula 1 races, international concerts, and cultural festivals, drawing in thousands of tourists annually.
Across the Arab region, Saudi Arabia followed in fourth place with 5.85, Egypt at fifth with 5.20, and Oman and Jordan close behind with 5.02 and 5.00 respectively. Morocco secured eighth position with 4.85, while Tunisia, Kuwait, Algeria, and Lebanon rounded out the list with scores between 4.30 and 4.05.
Bahrain’s achievement marks another milestone in its vision to become a premier tourism destination in the Gulf, aligned with its Economic Vision 2030.
