Uk embassy in Qatar advises citizens to avoid military and US-linked sites
The United Kingdom Embassy in Qatar has issued a safety advisory urging British nationals in Qatar to avoid areas surrounding security or military facilities, as well as locations linked to the United States.
In a statement shared on X on Wednesday, the embassy highlighted ongoing regional tensions and warned that Iran continues to carry out strikes targeting civilian infrastructure across multiple areas. These include ports, hotels, roads, bridges, energy facilities, oil production sites, water systems, and airports.
The advisory emphasizes the importance of vigilance and situational awareness, urging British citizens to stay clear of potentially sensitive or high-risk locations. The embassy stressed that such precautions are necessary to reduce exposure to any possible security incidents.
Additionally, British nationals have been strongly encouraged to register for travel advice email alerts issued by the Foreign, Commonwealth, and Development Office (FCDO). These alerts provide timely updates, safety guidance, and important information related to evolving situations in the region.
The embassy reiterated the need for individuals to stay informed through official channels and to follow guidance issued by local authorities. The advisory forms part of broader efforts to ensure the safety and well-being of British citizens amid ongoing regional developments.
