UAE Announces 2025 National Day Holiday for Private Sector

The UAE has officially declared a paid holiday for private-sector employees in celebration of the nation's 54th National Day, also known as Eid Al Etihad. The Ministry of Human Resources and Emiratisation (MoHRE) announced that Monday and Tuesday, December 1 and 2, 2025, will be recognised as paid holidays for all private-sector workers across the country.

The announcement was made through a formal circular issued by MoHRE, aligning with the UAE Cabinet’s approved list of official holidays for both government and private sectors. The Ministry extended its congratulations to the UAE’s leadership, citizens, and residents on the occasion.

This declaration follows a similar announcement by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources (FAHR), confirming that federal ministries and government entities will observe the holiday on the same dates. Work is scheduled to resume on Wednesday, December 3, 2025.

With Friday and Saturday forming the typical UAE weekend, the announcement creates a four-day break for residents, offering families and communities an extended opportunity to celebrate the country’s unification and achievements.
