Emirates Hospitals Group (EHG), one of the UAE’s leading integrated healthcare providers, has announced a strategic collaboration with Nice University Hospital (Centre Hospitalier Universitaire de Nice), a renowned academic and tertiary care institution in France.

The partnership marks a significant step towards advancing clinical excellence, medical education, and research in the region while strengthening healthcare cooperation between the UAE and Europe.

The collaboration aims to promote knowledge exchange, clinical cooperation, physician training, and academic partnerships. It will combine Nice University Hospital’s internationally recognized expertise in specialized care, research, and medical innovation with EHG’s strong clinical footprint and growing healthcare ecosystem in the UAE.

Christian Schuhmacher, Executive Chairman of the Board at Emirates Hospitals Group, said the partnership represents an important milestone for the organization. “By partnering with a leading European university hospital, we aim to enhance knowledge transfer, support physician development, and ultimately deliver better outcomes for our patients,” he said.

Prosenjit Bhattacharya, Chief Operating Officer of Emirates Hospitals Group, said the collaboration reflects EHG’s commitment to elevating patient outcomes by aligning with globally recognized centers of excellence. “This partnership supports our broader strategy to expand international collaborations, strengthen specialist services, and position EHG as a leading platform for advanced healthcare delivery, education, and research in the region,” he said.

Rodolphe Bourret, Chief Executive Officer of Nice University Hospital, welcomed the collaboration, noting that it creates meaningful opportunities for both clinical and academic cooperation. “This partnership strengthens ties between European and Middle Eastern healthcare institutions and opens new avenues for shared expertise,” he said.

The signing ceremony was attended by Dr. Lateefa Al Sada, Head of Consular Services and National Affairs Section, who highlighted the importance of such collaborations in strengthening cooperation between organizations in the UAE and France. She added that the initiative is strongly supported by Fahad Saeed Mohamed Abdulla Al Raqbani, Ambassador of the UAE to the French Republic.

Also present at the ceremony were Hervé Cael, Municipal Councillor and Vice-Chairman of the Supervisory Board of CHU; Christiane Amiel, Deputy Mayor of Nice and Delegate for International Relations; and Johanna Lerfel, Health Advisor for the Middle East Region based at the French Embassy in Saudi Arabia, along with senior dignitaries from the Faculty of Medicine at CHU.
