Dubai Launches ‘Most Beautiful Sustainable Home Garden’ Competition with BD30,000 Prize
Dubai Invites Residents to Showcase Sustainable Home Gardens-
Dubai Municipality has launched the third edition of its community agriculture initiative, “The Most Beautiful Sustainable Home Garden in Dubai”, offering a total prize pool of Dh300,000 (~BD30,000) for 10 winning entries.
The competition encourages residents to transform private gardens into eco-conscious green spaces that combine sustainability with aesthetic appeal. This initiative aligns with the Dubai Urban Master Plan 2040, aiming to expand green cover, promote sustainable practices, and enhance the city’s liveability.
To support participants, Dubai Municipality will provide workshops, awareness programs, and digital guidance, highlighting innovative technologies and efficient water and energy management.
Eligibility & Criteria:

Open to all Dubai residents, including homeowners in residential neighborhoods.

Gardens should integrate water and energy efficiency, biodiversity, soil health, waste management, renewable energy use, and innovative technologies.

A specialised judging committee will assess entries on 10 key criteria, from sustainability to design innovation and accessibility.
Muhammad Abdul Rahman Al Awadi, Director of the Agriculture Department, emphasized that the competition fosters environmental awareness, community engagement, and the adoption of sustainable solutions, reflecting Dubai’s commitment to a greener, more attractive urban environment.
The initiative builds on the success of previous editions, which saw strong community participation and growing interest in sustainable gardening practices.
