Bahrain International Circuit (BIC), famously known as The Home of Motorsport in the Middle East, delivered a spectacular weekend of racing as it hosted the fourth and penultimate round of the 2025–2026 Bahrain Drag Racing Championship. With championship points at a premium and the season finale looming, competitors pushed machines and nerves to the limit along BIC’s world-class quarter-mile strip.

The event attracted drag racing talent from across the Gulf, with drivers and riders from Bahrain, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, and the UAE competing in 12 fiercely contested categories. The intensity of the head-to-head eliminations reflected the high stakes, as every run could prove decisive in the title race.

Bahrain’s racers enjoyed a strong showing on home soil, claiming four category victories. Ali Rabeea dominated the 10.0 Index class, Mahmood Saleh topped the Outlaw 4-Cylinder division, Ali Alkhunaizi emerged victorious in Outlaw 6-Cylinder, and Khalifa Alshurooqi secured the win in Street Fight Bikes 9.5. Their successes were complemented by impressive performances from regional rivals, with three wins each going to competitors from Saudi Arabia and Kuwait, while two UAE racers also stood atop the podium.

The meeting was organised by BIC in cooperation with the Bahrain Motor Federation, the Bahrain Drag Racing Commission, and the Bahrain Motorcycle Commission, reinforcing Bahrain’s status as a regional hub for elite drag racing competition.

Rabeea clinched his 10.0 Index victory with a near-perfect 10.010-second run at 209.28kph in the final, defeating Kuwait’s Abdulla Alazmi, who broke out, while Saudi Arabia’s Thamer Alkhaldi finished third. In the Outlaw 4-Cylinder final, Saleh delivered a blistering 9.053s at 236.40kph to beat fellow Bahraini Jasim Saleh, with Mohsen Salman completing an all-Bahrain podium.

Alkhunaizi triumphed in the Outlaw 6-Cylinder category with a 10.304s run at 103.68kph, ahead of Saudi Arabia’s Ali Alluwaym and Bahrain’s Faisal Alarab. Meanwhile, Alshurooqi edged a dramatic Street Fight Bikes 9.5 final, posting 9.511s at 223.10kph to narrowly defeat compatriot Abdulla Almozayen, as Ali Hamad Ali secured third place.

Saudi Arabia’s winners included Mohammed Albrahim in the 9.0 Index, Khalid Aldossary in Pro Street Bikes, and Jihad Aljamal in Outlaw Bikes. Albrahim’s 9.084s run at 211.06kph sealed his victory, while Aldossary impressed with a rapid 4.652s at 246.68kph. Aljamal claimed his class after defeating Kuwait’s Saad Jumah, who red-lit in the final.

Kuwait also enjoyed a successful round, with Ahmed Zaman taking the 8.5 Index, Salah Alhaidar winning the 4.8 Index, and Shehab Burabaa claiming victory in the 8.5 Index Bikes category. Each delivered strong final performances, capitalising on consistency and race-day precision.

Rounding out the list of winners were UAE drivers Faisal Alshehhi and Obaid Alblooshi. Alshehhi captured the Pro 29.5 V8 class with a 5.392s run at 164.61kph, while Alblooshi powered to victory in Competition 4.5, clocking an impressive 4.550s at 251.21kph.

BIC’s drag strip is part of the prestigious NHRA Worldwide Network, and winners in the NHRA-sanctioned championship will ultimately receive the iconic ‘Wally’ trophy drag racing’s most coveted prize, named after NHRA founder Wally Parks.

With round four now complete, anticipation is building for the championship finale, scheduled to take place from March 3 to 6. All eyes will be on BIC once again as champions are crowned and the season reaches its electrifying conclusion.
