Bahrain to reopen nurseries, kindergartens from April 5 as remote learning continues
The Ministry of Education Bahrain has announced the phased reopening of nurseries, kindergartens, and special needs schools across the Kingdom of Bahrain starting April 5, 2026.
According to the ministry, the decision is part of a gradual approach to resuming in-person education while ensuring the safety and well-being of students and staff. The reopening will prioritize younger children and students requiring specialized support, reflecting the importance of direct learning environments for these groups.
At the same time, the ministry confirmed that remote learning will continue for all other students until further notice. This measure aims to maintain continuity in education while allowing authorities to monitor the evolving situation and assess readiness for a broader return to classrooms.
Officials noted that strict health and safety protocols will be implemented in reopened institutions, including precautionary measures designed to protect students, teachers, and administrative staff.
Parents have been advised to follow official updates and coordinate with schools regarding schedules and guidelines. The ministry reiterated its commitment to balancing educational needs with public safety as the situation develops.
The phased reopening reflects Bahrain’s cautious approach to restoring normalcy in the education sector while adapting to ongoing circumstances.
