Bahrain and Oman Collaborate in MICE Tourism Workshop to Elevate Business Events Sector

Bahrain and Oman recently took a strategic step to strengthen their positions in the MICE (Meetings, Incentives, Conferences, and Exhibitions) tourism sector by co-hosting a specialized workshop at Exhibition World Bahrain (EWB). Organized under the framework of the tourism cooperation MoU between the two nations, the workshop brought together key players from the business events ecosystem ranging from the Bahrain Tourism and Exhibitions Authority (BTEA), EWB management, and hotel and travel representatives, to the Economic Development Board and other government affiliates

Oman’s insights were delivered by Khalid bin Walid Al Zadjali, Director of the Oman Convention Bureau at the Ministry of Heritage and Tourism. He shared best practices from Oman’s extensive experience in organizing regional and international conferences, positioning this workshop as a pivotal step in bolstering collaborative MICE development efforts between Bahrain and Oman

Dana Osama Al Saad, Deputy CEO for Resources and Projects at BTEA, emphasized that the session plays a vital role in realizing the goals of the MoU with Oman. She added that this initiative is deeply aligned with Bahrain’s Tourism Strategy 2022–2026, which prioritizes MICE tourism as one of its fundamental pillars.
