Abu Dhabi has once again been named the world’s safest city, securing the top global ranking for the tenth consecutive year since 2017, according to the latest international safety index released by Numbeo.
The sustained achievement highlights Abu Dhabi’s continued leadership in public safety, stability, and quality of life, further strengthening its reputation as a preferred global destination for residents, businesses, and investors.
Lieutenant General Ahmed Saif bin Zaitoon Al Muhairi, Commander-in-Chief of Abu Dhabi Police, said the milestone reflects the emirate’s long-term leadership vision and the continuous support of President His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan.
“This achievement is the result of a wise leadership vision, an integrated institutional approach, and the tireless efforts of Abu Dhabi Police personnel working around the clock to safeguard the community,” he said.
He noted that Abu Dhabi’s success is driven by proactive security strategies, the effective use of advanced technologies and artificial intelligence, and strong community engagement, which together form the foundation of societal safety and resilience.
Al Muhairi added that the policing model focuses on developing human capabilities, strengthening institutional partnerships, and empowering the public through awareness and participation, alongside sustained investment in smart systems that enhance decision-making and public reassurance.
Major General Sheikh Mohammed bin Tahnoun Al Nahyan, Director General of Abu Dhabi Police, said the ranking reflects a leadership vision that places human security at the centre of sustainable development.
“This global recognition confirms the success of a comprehensive approach that has created a safe, attractive environment for living, working, and investment, positioning Abu Dhabi as a leading international model for urban security and quality of life,” he said.
