HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Honours Asian Youth Games 2025 Executive Committee and Volunteers
Manama : Under the patronage of His Highness Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad Al Khalifa, First Deputy Chairman of the Supreme Council for Youth and Sports (SCYS), President of the General Sports Authority (GSA), and President of the Bahrain Olympic Committee (BOC), a ceremony was held to honour the executive committee and volunteers of the 3rd Asian Youth Games – Bahrain 2025, which the Kingdom successfully hosted last October.
The ceremony, held at Khalifa Sports City, was attended by His Highness Shaikh Salman bin Mohammed Al Khalifa, Vice President of the GSA; His Highness Shaikh Isa bin Ali Al Khalifa, Vice President of the BOC; Dr. Abdulrahman Askar, CEO of the GSA; and Faris Mustafa Al Kooheji, Secretary General of the BOC.
HH Shaikh Khalid bin Hamad expressed pride in Bahrain’s successful hosting of the Games, noting that the event showcased exceptional teamwork and the dedication of Bahraini talent. His Highness praised the efforts of the executive committee, chaired by Yousif Duaij, and the nearly 3,000 volunteers whose contributions delivered an outstanding edition that highlighted Bahrain’s leadership in organising major sporting events.
His Highness emphasised that Bahrain continues to rely on the capabilities of its national workforce, which has consistently proven its ability to deliver world-class events. HH Shaikh Khalid affirmed that the Bahrain 2025 edition represents a milestone in the history of the Asian Youth Games, having been organised in record time and to the highest standards of quality and excellence.
During the ceremony, HH Shaikh Khalid honoured the heads of the executive committee, supporting companies, and representatives of government agencies. Attendees also viewed a film showcasing highlights of the Games and the efforts of the organising committees, followed by competitions and prize draws that engaged the audience.
Upon his arrival at Khalifa Sports City, HH Shaikh Khalid received a warm welcome with applause from attendees, reflecting appreciation for His Highness’s support for national sports development – a key factor in Bahrain’s successful hosting of the Games within a ten-month timeframe.
