Disney’s First-Ever Castle on Water to Rise in Abu Dhabi

For the first time in Disney’s legendary history, a castle on water is set to become a reality—and it’s happening in Abu Dhabi. This groundbreaking project will redefine the magic of Disney architecture, blending the brand’s fairytale charm with the unique identity of the UAE’s capital.

Zach Riddley, senior vice president of global creative strategy at Walt Disney Imagineering, revealed the exciting development, saying, “Abu Dhabi is a city on the water, and so we’re really excited about being able to incorporate water for the first time in the design of our Walt Disney castles.”

This marks a historic first for Disney, as all of its iconic castles worldwide—from Cinderella’s Castle in Orlando to Sleeping Beauty’s Castle in Paris—have been built on land. The Abu Dhabi project, however, promises to be a dazzling evolution, celebrating both Disney magic and the emirate’s waterfront beauty.

With its stunning location and innovative design, the castle is expected to become a landmark attraction, drawing visitors from around the world to experience an enchanting blend of storytelling, culture, and imagination.
