Diriyah Art Futures – Emerging New Media Artists Programme Open Call

Riyadh, Sep. 14 – Diriyah Art Futures (DAF), the first dedicated hub for New Media Arts in the MENA region, has launched CONTINUUM ’25, an innovative exhibition spotlighting groundbreaking works by the inaugural cohort of emerging artists in new media arts. Hosted at DAF’s state-of-the-art facility in Diriyah, the exhibition runs under the curatorial direction of Irini Papadimitriou and features 13 compelling artworks ranging from immersive installations and VR experiences to AI-generated pieces.

Developed as part of the Emerging New Media Artists Programme, a collaboration with France’s Le Fresnoy, Studio National des Arts Contemporains, the exhibition includes contributions from 11 artists across Saudi Arabia, Egypt, Jordan, Algeria, Tunisia, Morocco, Bahrain, South Africa, South Korea, and the UK. The artists' creations explore contemporary themes such as memory, identity, displacement, environmental concerns, ethics, and algorithmic influence mirroring the hybrid, ever-evolving nature of the digital era.

Notable mentors and contributors to the programme include acclaimed international artists Anna Ridler, Karen Palmer, and Madeline Gannon, bringing global perspectives to this regional-first initiative. CONTINUUM ’25 not only marks a milestone in DAF’s mission to cultivate next-gen media artists but also sets the stage for future exhibitions amplifying the diverse voices reshaping the global art landscape.
