Bahrain’s Ministry of Transportation and Telecommunications and the Bahrain Authority for Culture and Antiquities are coordinating plans to improve access to the Kingdom’s cultural and heritage sites, Bahrain News Agency reported on 10 October.

The work includes assessing connections to the public transport network, developing sustainable cultural routes and coordinating transport services during cultural seasons and events.

Transport Minister Dr. Shaikh Abdulla bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said cooperation would support access for citizens, residents and visitors. BACA President Shaikh Khalifa bin Ahmed Al Khalifa said the organisations would identify joint projects that connect cultural destination management with transport planning.

The proposals aim to improve visitor experiences while protecting the historical and architectural character of heritage sites. The announcement describes planning and coordination; it does not give opening dates for new routes.
