Gulf Good News covers positive stories, people and developments across the GCC and beyond. An optimistic editorial focus does not remove the need to check a claim, explain uncertainty or correct a mistake.

Sources and verification

We use original announcements, public records, organiser information and supplied material to establish what happened, where and when. Articles should identify their source and distinguish an organisation’s claims from independently established facts. An announced project is not a completed project; a planned event is not an event that has already taken place.

Practical guides include a date for the information check and links to the responsible organiser or venue. Prices, opening hours and programmes can change. Readers should confirm current arrangements before making a booking.

Reporting and supplied releases

A report compiled from published sources is not presented as an interview or a visit by our team. Where an article is prepared from a supplied press release, we identify that basis. We do not invent quotations, interview responses, attendance or firsthand experience.

Paid placement and editorial sourcing are separate matters. Receiving a press release alone does not establish that a placement was paid. Commercial relationships must be recorded by the publishing team and disclosed where applicable; see our commercial-content policy.

Bylines

A named byline should identify the person responsible for the work. Content published under Gulf Good News uses the publication’s institutional byline. It should not be read as a claim that a particular reporter attended an event. Source credits and photograph credits remain distinct from the article byline.

Photographs and captions

Event coverage should use relevant, authentic photographs with an identified source. We preserve what a photograph documents: improvements to presentation must not invent people, change the event or create a false scene. An older photograph should be identified as a file image when its date matters. An illustration must not be passed off as documentary evidence.

A photo credit identifies its source; it does not, by itself, establish permission to reuse it. The publishing record should retain the image’s provenance and the basis for use.

Corrections

If you spot an error, use our Corrections page and include the article link, the disputed detail and supporting information where available. Material corrections should explain what changed. Routine wording improvements should not be used to make an old story appear newly reported.
