UAE-based NMDC Group inaugurated its Abu Al Bakhoush dredger in Nantong, China, on 9 October, adding capacity for marine infrastructure projects.
According to Emirates News Agency, the 148-metre vessel has a maximum dredging depth of 38 metres. Built by Jiangsu Haixin Shipping Heavy Industry, it is designed for work including trenches, navigation channels and harbours.
The addition expands a group fleet of more than 170 vessels. NMDC said it would strengthen its ability to carry out complex coastal, port and offshore projects.
UAE Minister of Foreign Trade Dr. Thani bin Ahmed Al Zeyoudi attended the inauguration alongside company representatives.
