The University of Doha for Science and Technology and Qatar Cool have signed an agreement to connect classroom learning with practical engineering challenges.
Announced by the university on 5 October, the memorandum of understanding outlines cooperation in student innovation, research, professional development and sustainability.
Planned activities include competitions, hackathons, internships and training, alongside curriculum development. Energy efficiency is among the areas the partners intend to explore.
The agreement builds on an earlier Qatar Cool hackathon organised with the university’s College of Engineering and Technology. Students worked on industry problems, and winning teams were recognised after the signing ceremony.
The partners say the collaboration will bring industry perspectives into applied education and help students build relevant skills. The announcement does not set out placement numbers or application dates for the planned opportunities.
