Bahrain is set to welcome its first Taj hotel as part of a $100 million investment programme announced by Indian Hotels Company Limited (IHCL) and Kingdom Projects, according to TradeArabia.
Unveiled at Gateway Gulf on 1–2 November 2026, the plans cover a hotel, restaurant and toy store.
A hotel and residences in Seef
Taj Hotel Downtown Seef is planned with 200 rooms and 80 branded residences. Construction is expected to start shortly; an opening date for the hotel has not been announced in the report.
Dining and retail openings planned for 2027
Bombay Brasserie in Bahrain Bay is undergoing interior fit-out, with a launch scheduled for the first quarter of 2027. A Hamleys flagship showroom at The Avenues Bahrain is targeting the same period.
Kingdom Projects will be Taj Group’s exclusive partner in Bahrain. The developments are expected to create opportunities across hospitality, dining and retail.
