Oman’s Reem Batteries & Power Appliances Co. SAOC and Bahrain’s UCA W.L.L. have signed a memorandum of understanding targeting the supply of 18,000 batteries a year to the Bahraini market.
According to the companies’ announcement, the proposed annual supply has an estimated value of approximately USD 1 million. The figures describe the intended scope of cooperation under the MoU, rather than completed deliveries.
The agreement was signed on the sidelines of the Made in GCC 2026 Forum and Exhibition, held from 6 to 8 October 2026 at Exhibition World Bahrain.
Connecting manufacturing in Oman with Bahrain’s market
Sanjeev Aravind Khapre, Chief Executive Officer of Reem Batteries & Power Appliances Co. SAOC, signed the MoU with Mahesh Bhatia, Director of Operations of UCA W.L.L., in the presence of representatives from both companies.
The cooperation is intended to connect Reem’s manufacturing capabilities in Oman with UCA’s work serving customers in Bahrain, expanding opportunities for GCC-made products within the region.
Khapre said the understanding offered an opportunity to strengthen Reem’s presence in Bahrain and develop a lasting commercial relationship with UCA. Bhatia said working with a GCC manufacturer would help the company meet local market needs and support cooperation between the two businesses.
Regional industrial cooperation
The companies described the agreement as an example of the Made in GCC forum’s aim to connect regional manufacturers with demand across Gulf markets.
The inaugural event was organised by Bahrain’s Ministry of Industry and Commerce and the GCC General Secretariat, providing a platform for industrial partnerships and investment discussions.
