Review by Bilal Kazi, founder of Gulf Good News. Rating: 5/5.

Bilal Kazi attended a special premiere of Namit Malhotra’s Ramayana at Epix Cinemas, hosted in collaboration with Empire Movies and supported by The Bahrain Life. In his review supplied to GGN, he describes the film as a visual spectacle that invites audiences to revisit the epic’s ideas of duty, leadership and responsibility.

A world built for the big screen

For Kazi, the film’s strongest impression is its scale and visual detail. He praises the world-building and presentation for creating a cinematic experience that feels larger than life.

He sees Ranbir Kapoor’s portrayal of Ram as an invitation to reflect on compassion, righteousness and the sacrifices that come with responsibility. His review highlights Sai Pallavi’s grace as Sita and the emotional strength she brings to the character.

Kazi also points to Ravi Dubey’s Lakshman as a human contrast to Ram’s divine presence. Ravana’s intelligence, ambition and flaws add another dimension to the story in his reading of the film.

Choices, duty and relationships

The review considers Ramayana through the choices its characters make and the consequences that follow. Rather than concentrating only on spectacle, Kazi connects the film to themes of relationships, values and duty familiar to generations who have grown up with the epic.

For those audiences, he writes, the experience offers a chance to reconnect with a cultural story through cinema.

The verdict

Kazi awards the film five out of five stars, praising its visual experience and character portrayals. This rating reflects his personal assessment following the Bahrain premiere.
